console jumps around after OSX Lion wakes from sleep?

Hey, I love the new changes in .96. Thanks for all your hard work!

I'm writing because of a bug that's popped up for me a few times since upgrading. It seems to happen after I wake my computer from sleep, but I'm not certain that's the only time I've seen it.

The problem is that the contents of the console window sometimes start to "jump" several lines in very quick bursts. This happens whenever I add a character at the command prompt (i.e. whenever I type a character, but NOT when I press backspace, function keys, or the arrow keys). During the jumps, whatever I'm typing disappears for a split second (replaced by something 5-10 lines up) and then reappears.

My computer is a mac with the latest version of OS X Lion. The problem occurred in all the versions of 0.96 that I've tried (I upgraded to the preview version about a week ago). I'm currently on 0.96.117. Let me know if I can help with anything for the diagnosis.

Thanks again for making such a great product!

    David,

Thanks for reporting and this is one we haven't seen or heard of. Since it doesn't easily repro for you, this one might be really hard to track down. I have a feeling it might be related to either when we upgraded to QT 4.8 or synced to ACE tip (ACE is our editor), but I'm not certain about this. Either way, for starters, can you check the log file and upload anything you find in there:

Okay, files are attached. I also attached a video of the behavior, in case it helps.

Oh, and I'm not sure if this is relevant, but the other thing I changed on my computer right around the time this started was that I downgraded from an administrator account to a normal account. I don't know why that would make a difference, but it's the only thing I can think of.

I can always fix the problem by closing and reopening RStudio, so it's not a huge deal, but it would be nice if it could be prevented.

    Thanks again!

    David,

Sorry for the delay in response here. Thanks for the diagnostic information and this helps a lot! I've filed a bug and alerted another engineer. We need to dig a bit deeper on this one to see exactly what is going on.

Great, thanks for looking into it. If it happens again, would you like more logs?

    Dave,

I think we should be okay for now, we need to look into it a little more on our end.

    Dave,

Looking into this more we are not able to actually reproduce this with Lion. If you do see this again, would you be able to copy and paste into a text file, the entire contents of your console and send it to us? We think it might have to do with previous input/output.

    Dave,

We were finally able to track this down and get it fixed! It will be available in the next version (0.97) or you can try out the dailies:

If you do try out the dailies, can you confirm that this is fixed?

    Thanks,
