pass command-line parameters to R?

As a very minor question, is it possible to pass additional command-line parameters to R? I was thinking
specifically of the -q parameter, which inhibits printing the console sign-on message at startup. Irrespective of that,
thanks for a superb interface to the R system!

   Thanks for reaching out and this is not currently available, but we have received a few requests for this. We plan to make some configurable option or preference which will suppresses the console sign-on message.
